On Monday the Team were on C7, with all the Calles being cleaned, weeded, and sprayed.
Wednesday found 11 Volunteers out, Badr, Graham, Johns 1&2, Julian (here on holiday), Ken, Paddy, Paul (welcome back), and Pete, who did a variety of tasks,from tree pruning and watering, to weeding.
Two healthy conifers kindly donated by a resident were planted in place of 2 dead trees, behind the post boxes.
Cath & Sue did a magnificent job on the bucket, raising €344-88, thanks to everyone who donated, and to Suzie & Cath for this week’s breakfasts.
On Monday the Team cleaned, weeded, and sprayed on C6, with Calles Puerto Lumbreras, Aralia, Castillo Mayorazgo, and the Dual Carriageway being treated. They also cleared a large amount of mud and silt from the area of the huge water burst on Calle Mayorazgo.
Wednesday found 8 Volunteers out. Badr, Charles, and Ken trimmed trees alongside the dual carriageway. Dave, Graham, and Pete watered all the trees, plants and shrubs, and Cath and I did the bucket, raising €297.50, thanks to everyone who donated, and to Suzie and Cath for the breakfasts.
Later we collected a stone table and chairs from D Sector, and delivered them to the Brownies community garden.
On Monday the Team were on C4 &C2, with Calles Baeza, Bugambilla, Aralia, and Azaleas being cleaned, weeded, and sprayed.
It is taking the Team a bit longer to get around at the moment, because of the huge amount of weeds in the streets, a legacy of the heavy rainfall over the winter.
Wednesday found 12 Volunteers out. Badr, Charles, and Mark trimmed and shaped the trees in the gardens at the bottom of the dual carriageway. Marylyn, Baz, Ken, and Paddy weeded the gravelled areas. Dave, Graham, and Pete watered all the planted areas, and Cath and myself did the bucket, raising €271.68, thanks to everyone who donated, and to Suzie and Cath for the breakfasts.
On Monday the Team were out cleaning, weeding, and spraying on C5, C7, and C4.
Wednesday found 9 Volunteers out, Cath, Badr, Charles, Graham, John 1, Ken, Mark, Pete and Simon.
A final delivery of 5 tons of coloured gravel was delivered, and laid in front of the new flower bed, to complete the project.Extensive watering and weeding was also carried out.
Cath and Mark looked after the bucket, raising an amazing €307.73, many thanks go out to all who kindly stopped and donated, and to Suzie and Cath for the breakfasts.
We say goodbye and thanks to Volunteer Simon, who is returning to the Isle of Man to live. We wish him and Mo Bon Voyage.
On Monday the Team were on C3, C5, and C7, with Calles Alcala La Real, Azaleas, Begijar and Retama being cleaned, weeded and sprayed.
Tuesday saw Graham, Mark and myself out laying membrane in front of the new flower bed, in readiness for a gravel delivery.
Wednesday found 10 Volunteers out, Cath, Marylyn, Badr, Charles, Graham, John1, Ken, Mark, Paddy and Pete.
Ken, Mark and John went across to B Sector and repaired the big potholes on the Rambla RoadBadr, Charles, Graham and Pete took delivery of 12 tons of gravel and spread it in front of the new flower bed, helped by the tarmac Volunteers when they returned from B Sector.
A faulty solar spotlight over the flower bed was also replaced.
Marylyn weeded one of the garden areas, whilst Cath and Paddy did the bucket, which raised €268.02, thanks to all who donated and to Cath for the breakfasts.
This year’s event has been changed from a Street Picnic to a Barbeque.
It will take place on Sunday 25th June, at the same place as last year, starting at 5pm.
Entertainment will be provided by Scott James, and cost of tickets will be €6 to include a burger and a hot dog.
There will be the usual bar facility, and bringing your own drinks will not be allowed, remember it’s to raise funds for Green Fingers.
Children up to the age of 15 will be entry free, there will be the usual raffle with a first prize of €50, tickets being €5 a strip.

On Monday the Team were on C1 & C3, with Calles Ibiscum, Alcala La Real, Azaleas, and the Pig Farm road being cleaned, weeded,and sprayed.
Wednesday found 9 Volunteers out, Cath, Badr, Charles, Graham, Johns 1&2, Mark, Paddy and Pete did extensive weeding, returned surplus pallets, and collected and laid membrane in front of the new flower bed, ready for gravel to be laid.
Cath and Paddy did the bucket, collecting €244-32 from the kind residents who donated.

There will be elections for all Committee posts, so if anyone wants to put themself, or another person forward, please let me know by 14th May.
There will be complimentary tea, coffee, or soft drinks, and a chance to question what we have done over the past year,and make suggestions for things that you feel we should be doing over the coming year.

Wednesday found 12 Volunteers out – Cath, Marylyn, Badr, Charles, Dave, Graham, Johns 1&2, Mark, Paddy, Pete and Simon.
The new flower bed on the corner of the Golf Club road, and the dual carriageway, which had been built by Graham and Mark, with help from Pete, was filled with another layer of topsoil.
We then took delivery of 110 plants and shrubs, our biggest ever delivery, and these were planted in the new bed, in front of it, and in the planters on the dual carriageway. A large amount of weeding was done, and 2 motion sensor solar spotlights were attached to the top of the Mercers sign, in an effort to deter the thieving going on.
Today’s bucket was €242-82,thanks to everyone who donated, and to Suzie and Cath for the breakfasts.
On Monday the Team were unable to do anything because of the gale and heavy rain.
