Working Party 14/12/2011

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

9 Volunteers turned out today,to work on the bottom of the dual carriageway, clearing weeds and overgrown shrubs. The planned finishing of the top road had to be put back to January because of non delivery of the gravel,so everyone moved down to the bottom of the road.
Father Christmas put in an hours appearance as a bucket rattler, but had to leave early because he found the December Camposol weather was too hot for him.The bucket collection raised 121-67 euros. Many thanks to all who donated.
This was our last working party of the year, thanks to all who volunteered their time over the year, thanks to all who so generously donated money and plants to make Sector C the stand out Sector on Camposol.
The working party will re-start on 11th January 2012,as will the 5e monthly maintenance scheme to improve further our Sector.
A merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all,and if you’re not signed up to the maintenance scheme yet, there’s still plenty of time.

Christmas is almost upon us so have a very happy time and all the best to you and all your helpers for a healthy and happy 2012. I am sure we will meet sometime!

Good News for D Sector.

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

Congratulations to Mick and the committee and the D-Sector Gardening Group on getting registered with the council.
It was hard to do but well worth the effort to stop the few that just want to moan and complain about everything that the hard working volunteers have achieved over the last few years.

The only reason we have registered is to be legal which allows us to open a bank account in the groups name and free of charges plus we can then get insurance for the volunteers plus we can collect money and have functions.
We want to make the community stronger and work with the CRA who represent the whole of Camposol.
Bob Owen and his committee are working for us free of charge so I say thank you very much.
When the clever people with the gift of the written word spend hours slating the good that is done, do they ever think who is repairing the potholes and cleaning the roads and footpaths and who is making the perimeters look nice.
Well I will tell you I am one of those who go out every week and work at least 10 hours for the community.
I am also a Mabs volunteer driver. Everyone should be asking what can I do to help not put there head in the sand and wait for the council, this is Spain not the uk.
If you have time on your hands stop complaining on the web sites with your professional crap trap and get out with a sweeping brush or join one of the committees , do something positive.
C-Sector Green Fingers wish each and everyone of you all the very best for the coming year.
Feliz Navidad Bernard Holland Chairman Green Fingers.

Flooding at bottom of dual carraigeway

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

Just been through the small amount of pooled water at the site of the new bigger pipe.
After 14 hours of rain we would have had at least 6 inches of water there, but the new pipe, sourced by Adrian and fitted Sunday 27th November by 4 Green Fingers volunteers has performed admirably.
The other problem at the bottom of the road up to the reservoirs which was tackled by the full work party on Wednesday seems also to have been cured with no stones or silt washed onto the road.

Can you help.

Camposol– Poligono Representatives required.

Our Sector Community Groups need representatives for the poligono´s listed below.

As you may be aware, the Council through its bi monthly open meetings with residents welcome new ideas and suggestions for improvements on Camposol.

While any resident is welcome to put forward ideas and suggestions it is only the organised groups that have a vote on proposals made.
Make sure your voice and those of your neighbours is heard and your right to have an input to influence the vote through your local group is exercised.

Your local Community Group is working on your behalf but needs input from all poligonos to influence the direction the group takes. This is your chance to be involved and help to develop the tremendous community spirit these groups achieve.

We have at last a council that wants to interact with the residents, let’s work with them to achieve the best we can for ourselves.

If you are interested in representing your poligono please speak to the relevant Chairman for more details.
