AGM 2011
HELD ON 21st APRIL AT THE GOLF CLUB
CHAIRMAN: Mr Bernard Holland
1) Bernie opened the meeting with a welcome address to the 22 people present.
2) Meetings:
Bernard attended a meeting along with CRA and other gardening group’s representatives with the Guardia Civil to discuss security and other issues. Information is available on the Greenfingers website and you are also able to ring the Guardia Civil direct on 986 594 103. Alternatively, you can ring 112 and say “habla ingles”, but the call goes to the local police initially who then contact the Guardia Civil.
Bernard also attended a meeting with the Mayor, Sñr Blaya Blaya, and other representatives of groups on Camposol who informed him that the Town Hall now have a solicitor working full time on the problems of Camposol and Masa. Since 15th April the Town Hall has been in charge of Camposol and Masa has been removed as the developer, Town council are too set up a separate company to run Camposol but under control of the council. The council are pursuing Masa for monies to put the urbanization into the order needed, prior to adoption and issuing of Certificates of Habitation etc.
The Council has not been paid by Masa for approximately one and a half years for the collection of Rubbish.
The collection of Water Bills should transfer to the Council during the months of May/June.
3) Bernie talked about the events held and the monies raised to fund the work that has been carried out during the last year. See Balance sheet for details.
4) Bernie sincerely thanked all those workers who have come out over the last year, giving their time and effort to beautifying and improve Sector C, also to Norma and Jo for making the bacon sandwiches and to Bill Shepherded for auditing the accounts.
5) FAST: Bernie has spoken with FAST – the First Aid Response Team who are close to starting up on all the poligonos to be the nearest response to medical emergencies as often the ambulance can take a little time and treatment in the first few minutes of some situations can mean the difference quite literally between life and death.
FAST has 38 volunteers at the moment and hopes to be operational by 1st June 2011.
Bernie suggested that Greenfingers donate 50€ towards the cost of Sweat shirts that they are buying, which motion was unanimously carried.
6) Mr Bill Natas has donated a table and chairs to be placed beside the old Petanca Court, adjacent to C-1.
7) MATERIALS: Bernie told us that 340 tonnes of gravel and hardcore had been laid by the teams over the last year together with 2600 sq.m of permeable membrane.
Also, there were olive trees and lots of plants plus water butts.etc……………………….

8) MEMBERSHIP: The cost of membership is now 5€ each person.
9) PINE TREES: Bernie reported that the Council, Jaqui Galvez in particular, were embarrassed as the promised Pine Trees were only 12 cms tall. We have received 300, some of which will be planted on various corners and perimeters around the C-Sector.
10) NEWLETTERS: Kim will no longer sponsor them as gardeners groups functions impinge on her business, of putting on entertainment at the Golf Club etc
11) PETANCA COURT C7: Mrs Barbara Boyes has volunteered to look after the Court. She can be contacted on 968 971 890 or 686 171 086 or barbaraboyes@hotmail.com
12) Bernie said the ‘Joint operations’ with Sector D for some projects had been mooted, but had been turned down by them as they are also having problems finding volunteers and workers.
13) Bernie said that if sufficient volunteers are not forthcoming, how would the meeting feel about going to ‘GO MAD’ and employing an Ecuadorian for a few hours one day a week? The general feeling was that it was a last resort, BUT providing the person worked solidly and did ‘as asked’, it would be acceptable.
14) Bernie has said he wants to step down as Chairman, but was asked by Lesley Dunton whether he would consider staying for at least one more year if a committee took on most of his tasks, freeing up his time. He said he would consider that proposal.
15) Bernie asked for volunteer to serve on the new Committee.
