First Aid Support Team (FAST) need your support.

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

The First Aid Support Team (F.A.S.T.) is an idea by a few Camposol Residents to get together and assist when people have an emergency. It is still in it’s infancy but already we have the full support of the head of the emergency services who will provide training from the Red Cross and every volunteer will be fully trained and hold relevant certificates.

Members of F.A.S.T. will be in the main entrance of Consun on Sector B Comercial tomorrow between 1200 and 1400 and outside Tel’s bar on Sector A asking residents to add their name to the list supporting this new and very essential service for Camposol, they will also be on hand to answer any questions and take details of anyone who wishes to become a volunteer.

A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR ALL CAMPOSOL RESIDENTS: WOULD YOU LIKE A FIRST AID SUPPORT TEAM? (F.A.S.T.)

What happens at the moment if you or someone close to you suffers a

cardiac arrest (heart attack) or is in need of urgent medical attention through stroke, breathing problem, drowning or major blood loss?

ANSWER: The clock starts ticking pretty FAST! You call 112 and alert the professionals and then………. What do you do???

The problem we face on Camposol is that it may take those vital support services a long time to get to us maybe 40 minutes, made even more difficult by a lack of street lighting, street names and other problems faced by a relatively new community.

The Facts: To enhance the chances of survival, there needs to be a ‘FAST’ response to assist the casualty and help preserve life if possible until the professionals arrive. Literally every minute counts!

For example, with cardiac arrest the FASTER CPR starts the better and whilst this can help preserve life the use of a defibrillator can enhance the narrow survival rates by around 10 times and although there is still no guarantee, I’m sure you would agree that you would prefer the better chance.

Good News? There is now a group of people who want to help residents of Camposol by providing a trained volunteer team to respond as ‘FAST’ possible after 112 has been called in any such event  to provide First Aid support and assist in giving the the best chance of survival until the Ambulance arrives.

So if you think you would like this support we need to know so that we can start to plan how this free service can evolve. To begin with all we need is to know your name and which sector you live on and a signature, if there is sufficient interest in this project then we will work on your behalf to get plans underway as ‘FAST’ as is possible based on training, legal boundaries and volunteer base.

Meet us at Consum  or Tel’s Bar every Thurs between 1200hrs and 1400hrs from 20 Jan to sign our record of support or drop into The Tea Pot in the Port and sign your support any day but as ‘FAST’ as you can…..your life could depend on it!

Tel: Kaz on 626823081  or email your support to: fastcamposol@hotmail.com

Hi Bernard
Darren here,
Can you possibly post on the green fingers site.

I have heard, there is a black vehicle (mercedes we think although I will try get more info on that) driving round camposol acting suspicious, could be connected to the guy that mugged the woman on D-Sector,

I am keeping a good eye out for it but as yet not seen it, but there has also been a couple of attempted break ins on B-Sector, which have been disturbed b4 managing to break in…
Darren.

Thanks to Darren who is the security patrol man from the B Sector commercial centre. Who is offering 30% to members.

GREENFINGERS GARDENING & SOCIAL CLUB

‘CAMPOSOL SECTOR C’.

January 2011 New Letter.

Happy New Year. Health & happiness to you all.

We would like to thank you for your support not only with our recent events but also with your donations and enthusiasm for future projects. Forthcoming events and plans are listed below and we hope to see you there.  For tickets or information please contact your poligono rep or Bernard Holland on 626513842, e-mail spainvilarosa@gmail.com or visit the website http://www.greenfingersgardenandsocialgroup.com.

Communication is the biggest problem on Camposol.

The best way to keep in touch with all that is going on in and around Camposol is to get on line and check out the sites and links that are available from all the groups that are available to you.

If you are having problems getting on our web site please contact Bernard and he will come to your home and help you get on line.

We need your help to keep improving Camposol.

The Green Fingers Gardening group of volunteers need your help, the 10 regular volunteers are asking why there are not more volunteers coming out helping, they are getting despondent and I can understand there disappointment. If we had better numbers the C-Sector projects around the perimeter would be complete and then just require general maintenance.

If it is the wrong day for you or time please just ask and we can point you to an area that you can look after at your convenience and that will make a massive difference. Ask yourself what can I do to help.!!!!

Anyone interested in a translator club.

Friday, January 14th, 2011

I have an idea of starting a translator club for use at the medical centre.

I have contacted all the heads of groups on Camposol and the response has been very positive and a meeting has been arranged for Monday.

All residents of Camposol would be invited to join and the estimated costs to provide a translator at the medical centre for 5 days a week for 5 hours would be 5€ per month per couple. 60€ per year

All members would be registered and asked to sign a disclaimer to protect the translator and the administrators of the club. All members would have a membership card to show the translator to get help.

The club would be independent of all groups and have its own bank account with a representative from each Sector who would have the last word on any complaints from members which would be final.

The translator can not be in 2 consultation rooms at any one time and common-sense and patience would be needed.

I have a translator willing to be based in the medical centre at our disposal working only for members.

Please if you are interested email spainvilarosa@gmil.com.

Thank you for taking the time to read this posting also tell your neighbour we need to know your feed back..

You have been warned.
