Unfortunately there is a light problem with uploading photos at the moment to the site. For some reason they were causing errors with the server. All photos that were uploaded on the 25th and 26th have been saved and moved to another file on the server while this problem is sorted out. Should have this fixed by tomorrow morning at the latest.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

CRA Announcement – CAG

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

Dear CRA Member,

We recently met with the Camposol Action Group, where they brought us up-to-date with their campaign.
Although the CRA is not directly involved with the Camposol Action Group, we like to keep our members informed of all local issues.  We detail below a summary of their background and current situation.

CAMPOSOL ACTION GROUP

Frustrated with the lack of response from Masa to put right the serious structural defects of their properties and aware that there were many other owners in the same situation, Mary and Michael Pouncey and Barb and Derek Dickinson formed the Camposol Action Group. There are now 70 members of the group and they are keen to recruit more. The group is open to all owners who believe their property has structural problems or those which are showing early signs of structural problems.

The objective is to take the identified parties to court to get full remedial works actioned or the applicable rebuild monies awarded or if appropriate to reach an out of court settlement for owners.

For the avoidance of any doubt, taking part in the action will not impact on ownership of the affected properties. If awarded monies the owner will have the option of investing the money into the property or keeping the money to set off against their loss.

The Camposol Action Group has negotiated discounted legal fees in stage payments for the members of the group. The fees are scaled on the number of participants, the more members there are the lower the individual fee.

The group’s outlook appears promising; the following extract was reported in The EuroWeeklyNews on 6th September.

A meeting held by the Camposol Action Group in August proved to be very positive with both the surveying and legal representatives confirming that a strong case for recompense exists with regards to structural defects affecting many properties.

From initial talks less than six months ago, real progress has now been made and serious action is now going ahead, using more comprehensive legal and technical methodology than previously attempted, with a view to maximising the chances of a successful outcome for owners.”

Time is now running out for new members to join; the group need to progress to the next stage in the legal proceedings. Therefore a deadline has to be set; the closing date is 1st October 2010.

Green Fingers Press Release

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

GREENFINGERS GARDENING & SOCIAL CLUB ‘CAMPOSOL SECTOR C’

The Greenfingers Gardening group on Sector ‘C’ have been busy raising money over the summer for the many projects they are planning for the winter months.

The latest event they had was a Street Party held on Sunday 12 September which was attended by approximately 150 residents and was held by the sectors Petanca Pitch at the top of Calle Alcaudete.

There was a barbecue manned by Colin and Bill who cooked over 150 burgers and 100 sausages and a bar well stocked with beer, wine and soft drinks manned by Martin, Peter and David were kept very busy until the small hours with a steady stream of residents buying drinks.

There was a disco and lighting supplied by residents Kim and Richie and some lighting was erected as well as candles put on the tables so the lack of street lighting was overcome.  Everyone had a really good time and the event which started at 7pm went on until well after midnight and singing was heard several streets away as residents made their way home.  The event raised a total of 403.43€ which will go towards the good work the group are doing around the sector.

The next event planned for the club is a Table Top Sale on Sector ‘B’ Square on 24 September at 10am.  If anyone has anything that can be sold at the sale please contact Bernard (number below) who will arrange to either collect or let you know where you can drop off the items.

Another event in October for the club will be a 60′s & 70′s Theme Night with Martin Ross on Friday 22 October at the Golf Club everybody is welcome and if you would like tickets or more information please contact Bernard on 626513842, e-mail spainvilarosa@gmail.com

Volunteers are still urgently required by the group who have already started doing some work on the sector by pruning the trees on the main duel carriageway by the Masa house as it is becoming dangerous when  crossing the carriageway with not being able to see.
There are still lots of projects to be completed and of course maintenance work to be done as well as new projects coming along so if you feel you could spare a couple of hours a week please contact Bernard on the number above.

CRA Announcement – Daniel Buscanana

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

Daniel Buscanana, Masa´s top dog was in with the architects when I visited the town hall yesterday.
That’s progress getting him leave the comfort of his office in Alicante and come to Mazarron to get a dressing down from our project team.
I am still waiting to hear the outcome and have left a message again this morning for an update on amongst other things the bridge approach.
Unless you can find someone to re fuse or bypass the meter as has been done on many other sectors we will have to wait until our entity is formed to get the street lights back on.
Masa are simply refusing to pay the bill.
Iberdrola will not even enter talks with us. At present we are simply a residents association representing about half the residents on Camposol. Once we have an entity to legally enter a contract with them the lights will come back on.

Sorry its a negative reply but everything here is a bloody up hill struggle.
Thank Christ the council are sitting up and starting to get action at last.

By all means publish this on your website to keep people informed.

Kind Regards
Bob Owen
